wow, I try to help out in my daughters classroom when I am not working, but holy crap I would never do that! I loved it when my parents came and helped, I did the majority of the work with each parent pitching in ideas or expertise when needed. I think the teachers at Hickman Mills would shit themselves just to have more than one parent in the whole school even stepping in the class room.

Silken – Me too – I simply can’t support this whole idea of the parents doing it, as a former teacher or a parent.

Could this be the reason so many kids can’t think for themselves? I must be a total bitch when I tell my kids: Your project, your problem. I’ll offer support, suggestions, and the ever necessary parental critique. But DO IT YOUR SELF.

Scary. I watched my first episode ever of Kimora- Life in the Fab Lane, or whatever it’s called, last night. My jaw drop moment? When the kids’ nanny was listed as an “activities manager”. Say WHAT?

See, until I met you, I thought all that weirdness was relegated to LA and NYC.
