You Can't Tell They're Maternity Jeans

Have I mentioned that I’ve lost all my baby weight?

Before you hate me, please keep in mind that I was forty pounds overweight going into this pregnancy. And that weight? Still here.

I desperately need to exercise. But I’m STILL not allowed to do much more than walk. Which would be fine if this wasn’t the winter from hell. But it is.

So that leaves us with diet. You know how I have the problem with authority?

Someone says diet and I think, “I want nachos. With a plate of brownies as a chaser.”

Instead I trick myself. I make little changes – or I try to – and eventually they start to work. (In times past I also exercised a lot. Hopefully this will happen again soon. I also used to smoke a lot. Hopefully that won’t happen again.)

Mom Central sent me this stuff called Truvia, which is what got me thinking about all this in the first place (also? Still wearing maternity jeans). Truvia is a calorie-free sweetener. What makes it better than other sweeteners is that it’s all natural. And it tastes better. So that’s my current change – using Truvia as a sweetener.

You can also bake yummy things with it. Not that I’ve tried that yet. . .since I don’t bake or anything. But Hot Guy’s going to use it next time I let him bake anything. Which won’t be until I’m wearing normal jeans again, so you may not want to hold your breath.

Have you ever thought about buying a juicer? I’m not the diet type either but I found that with the juicer you don’t have to do any thinking. You buy fruit, throw it in, and voila! You are left with a naturally sweet and nutritional drink – which I am not exaggerating, leaves you not only full but satisfies sweet cravings. I juice twice a day in between meals since I tend to think im hungry every hour. I have lost a total of 8 pounds and found that I crave less and less chocolate, my only addiction. I would only recomend this if you like fruit to begin with.

I just bought some Truvia instead of my standard splenda for tea and things, and I really like it. It is less sweet that Splenda – which is probably a good thing!

Mmmm, I’m a big fan of stevia! I personally use the Stevia Clear from BuyWisdom.com, and Celestial Seasonings Zingers to Go.

I’ve noticed a recent push in Stevia sweetened products since the FDA finally approved it. Too bad it loses all its nutritional value when turned into that white powdery stuff, but the extract and leaves themselves can boost your immune system in addition to having no calories!

Hmmm, I do like fruit. And I do need to wean myself off of the chocolate.

Ugh…losing weight. I’m trying to right now. It makes me want to smash things.

I’m a bad and very mean dieter.

Wordvixen – Good stuff to know – I’m so ignorant about this stuff.

Leslie – Me too. Of course I’m not a peach when I’m not dieting, either.
